Using TalkShadow
Which files can I open?
Audio and video files on your Mac that macOS can play, like MP3, M4A and MP4. For a video, only the sound plays.
Why aren’t my sentences split well?
TalkShadow first splits at pauses, then uses on-device speech recognition for a transcript. Pick the file’s language in the toolbar. If your Mac has no on-device model for it, turn on Dictation in that language (System Settings › Keyboard) so macOS downloads one.
How does shadowing practice work?
Each sentence loops with a pause after it, about as long as the sentence, so you can say it back. With Pro, slow it down, record your attempt (⌘R) and compare it with the original (⌘E).
Trial and Pro
What’s free, and what does Pro add?
Everything works for 7 days from the first launch. After that, without a key, you can open files, find sentences with the transcript and loop at normal speed with pauses. Pro keeps slow-down, record and compare, hard marks and hands-free next sentence. It’s a one-time purchase on Gumroad, with no subscription.
Where do I enter my license key?
Click Enter Key… at the bottom of the sentence list, or choose TalkShadow › Settings…, paste the key from your Gumroad receipt and click Activate.
How do I get updates?
TalkShadow checks for updates on its own; you can also choose Check for Updates… from the TalkShadow menu. Updates are free.

How do I get a refund?
Gumroad handles payment. Reply to your Gumroad receipt or email k.fitzgerald310@gmail.com.
Do I have to pay again on another Mac?
