Pairtrim

Privacy Policy

Effective September 29, 2026

The short version: Pairtrim does not collect your data.

No accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and nothing is sent to us.

This policy explains how Pairtrim (“the app”), a Mac app that finds the RAW files, JPEGs and sidecars left over after you cull a shoot, and moves the ones you choose into a review folder, developed by Kevin Fitzgerald, handles information.

Information we collect

None. Pairtrim does not collect, store, sell or share personal information on any server, and it does not include analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking tools of any kind.

Information stored on your Mac

To work, the app keeps the following on your Mac only:

Settings and recent folders are in Pairtrim’s preferences on this Mac, the license key in your Keychain, and each restore log next to the files it moved, in the review folder. Deleting the review folder removes the moved files and their log; Restore never removes a log.

Your photos

Pairtrim runs in Apple’s App Sandbox, so it can open only the folders you choose or drop on it. It reads file names, sizes and the previews embedded in your photos (and, only if you turn on capture-time matching, each photo’s capture time and camera). It moves only the files you tick, into a review folder inside that folder. It never deletes a file and never changes one.

Photos, Lightroom and Capture One

Pairtrim doesn’t open your Photos library, and it refuses folders that hold a Photos library or a Lightroom or Capture One catalog, so nothing they manage is moved.

Network

Pairtrim is sold directly through Gumroad, and its only network requests are the license check with Gumroad (your license key, when you enter it and about once a week) and checks for app updates at fitztoppicks.com. Neither sends anything about your photos.

Purchases

Pairtrim is sold directly through Gumroad, which handles payment and sends your receipt and license key; we never see your payment details. The app sends your license key to Gumroad to check it, and nothing else.

Children’s privacy

Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If the app ever begins collecting data, this policy will be updated before that happens.
