Answers to common questions are below. If yours isn’t, email k.fitzgerald310@gmail.com with your device model and iOS or iPadOS version.

The schedule

How is the schedule made?

From your answers about the house: its type, the year it was built, heating, cooling, the water heater, the climate, and features like gutters, a septic system, a sump pump, a pool or pets. Home Rounds picks the rounds that apply from its library of 59, so a condo gets no gutter cleaning and a gas furnace adds carbon monoxide alarms. To change the answers, tap the gear on the Home tab, then House details; the schedule follows.

Where do the intervals come from?

Each round names its source: a safety standard such as NFPA (smoke alarms), agency guidance such as the EPA (radon and septic), the equipment’s maker (filters and water heaters), or common practice where there’s no single authority. Settings › Where the intervals come from lists them all. They’re general guidance for a typical home: your equipment’s manual, a professional’s advice and local codes come first.

Can I change a round?

Yes. Open a round to use your own interval, snooze it a week or turn it off. Rounds you turned off are listed at the bottom of the Rounds tab, to turn back on. The + button on the Rounds tab adds a round of your own.

I did this before I started using the app.

Open the round and tap Done before? Set when. It sets the next due date without adding to the log or the home-history PDF.

Reminders

Why didn’t I get a reminder?

Check that Remind me when rounds are due is on in Settings (the gear on the Home tab), and that notifications for Home Rounds are allowed in the Settings app. You get at most one notification a day, covering every home, at the time you choose. iOS keeps only 64 waiting at a time, so Home Rounds plans the next few months whenever you open it, and the last one asks you to open the app.

Part cards and the home history

What goes on a part card?

The size or type (a filter’s 16 × 25 × 1, a battery’s CR2032, a bulb’s A19), the rating, the model and serial numbers, the installed date, where to buy it, notes and a photo of the label. The Parts tab suggests a card for each part your house has.

What’s in the home-history PDF?

A summary with the total recorded, the number of entries, the work done by a professional, the receipts attached and spending by year, then the major work, the dated record with costs, the parts on file and the receipts. Choose what it’s for (a home sale, an insurance claim, a warranty claim or a general record), the dates it covers and whether to include receipts and part photos, then share or save it. Open it from the document button on the Log tab, or Home-history PDF on the Home tab.

Backup and a new device

How do I move to a new iPhone or iPad?

With Pro, open Settings › Back up everything and save the file to Files, iCloud Drive or a computer. On the new device, tap Restore from a backup on the first screen, or in Settings. Restoring replaces what’s on that device.

Home Rounds Pro

What does Pro add?

More than one home, part cards, receipt and part photos, the home-history PDF, and backup and restore. The full schedule for one home, reminders and the log are free. Pro is a one-time purchase with Family Sharing, and there’s no subscription.

Purchases

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles App Store refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Do I have to pay again on another iPhone or iPad?

No. Sign in with the same Apple Account, open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchase.
