Privacy Policy
No accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and nothing is sent to us.
This policy explains how Volumeboard (“the app”), a Mac menu bar app that gives each app its own volume, developed by Kevin Fitzgerald, handles information.
Information we collect
None. Volumeboard does not collect, store, sell or share personal information on any server, and it does not include analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking tools of any kind.
Information stored on your Mac
To work, the app keeps the following on your Mac only:
- Each app’s volume, mute and output choices, so they come back next time
- Your saved mixes, smart triggers, keyboard shortcuts and settings
- Whether you unlocked Volumeboard Pro (Apple handles the purchase; we never see your payment details)
It stays in Volumeboard’s own storage on your Mac and is never sent to us.
Sound
To change an app’s volume, Volumeboard routes that app’s sound through itself using macOS’s system audio feature, and macOS asks your permission first. Sound is adjusted live, in memory, and played straight back out. Volumeboard never records, saves or sends any audio.
Other apps
Volumeboard shows which apps are playing sound, using their names and icons from macOS. It doesn’t look inside other apps or read their content.
Purchases
Volumeboard is sold through Apple’s Mac App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment details.
Children’s privacy
Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If the app ever begins collecting data, this policy will be updated before that happens.
