Privacy Policy
No accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and nothing is sent to us.
This policy explains how Sheetbreak (“the app”), a Mac app that splits a construction plan set PDF into one PDF per sheet, named from each sheet’s title block, developed by Kevin Fitzgerald, handles information.
Information we collect
None. Sheetbreak does not collect, store, sell or share personal information on any server, and it does not include analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking tools of any kind.
Information stored on your Mac
To work, the app keeps the following on your Mac only:
- Your settings: the file-name preset and options, whether to read scanned pages with text recognition, and which sheet index files to write
- The title-block box you used for each set (by the set’s file name), so the next version of a set opens with the same box
- Your license key, in your Mac’s Keychain
Settings and the remembered boxes are in Sheetbreak’s preferences on this Mac and the license key in your Keychain. The set you open is read into memory and never changed or moved; the sheet PDFs and the index are new files, in a new folder inside the one you choose.
Your files
Sheetbreak runs in Apple’s App Sandbox, so it can open only the PDFs you choose or drop on it, and save only in the folder you choose. Reading the title blocks, including text recognition for scanned pages, happens on your Mac; no page is uploaded anywhere.
Network
Sheetbreak is sold directly through Gumroad, and its only network requests are the license check with Gumroad (your license key, when you enter it and about once a week) and checks for app updates at fitztoppicks.com. Neither sends anything about your plan sets.
Purchases
Sheetbreak is sold directly through Gumroad, which handles payment and sends your receipt and license key; we never see your payment details. The app sends your license key to Gumroad to check it, and nothing else.
Children’s privacy
Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If the app ever begins collecting data, this policy will be updated before that happens.
