Privacy Policy

The short version: Pack Witness does not collect your data.

No accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and nothing is sent to us.

This policy explains how Pack Witness (“the app”), a packing-video recorder for online sellers, for iPhone, iPad and Mac, developed by Kevin Fitzgerald, handles information.

Information we collect

None. Pack Witness does not collect, store, sell or share personal information on any server, and it does not include analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking tools of any kind.

Information stored on your iPhone, iPad or Mac

To work, the app keeps the following on your iPhone, iPad or Mac only:

Your packing videos (.mp4 files) and a list of them: order or tracking number, start and end times, file name, size, SHA-256, the device and camera that recorded it, and whether it's marked Keep
Dispute PDFs you make, until you share or save them
Your settings: video quality, sound on or off, retention days and storage limit, the camera and clips folder you chose, how many clips you've recorded, and whether Pro is unlocked

On iPhone and iPad, videos are in Pack Witness's Documents folder, which you can see in the Files app. On the Mac, they're in the app's own folder or the folder you choose. Nothing is sent to us and Pack Witness has no server. Your device's backups may include them, as they do for other apps. Deleting the app removes its own folder.

The camera and microphone

Pack Witness uses the camera to record and to read barcodes on labels, only while the Record screen is open. Barcode reading happens on your device (Apple's Vision framework). The microphone is used only if you turn on Record sound in Settings on iPhone or iPad; it's off by default. The Mac version records video only.

Sharing

Videos and PDFs leave your device only when you share or save them yourself, with the share sheet or a save dialog.

Purchases

Pack Witness is sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment details.

Children’s privacy

Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If the app ever begins collecting data, this policy will be updated before that happens.
