Using LevelMark
Which files can it check?
WAV, AIFF, MP3, AAC/M4A, FLAC and CAF. Drop files or folders on the window or the Dock icon, or choose File › Open… (⌘O).
Is it a certified loudness meter?
No. It measures to ITU-R BS.1770-4 and EBU Tech 3342 and was tested with the EBU’s test signals, but it’s a quality-control tool. Where a spec isn’t published or LevelMark doesn’t measure it the spec’s way (YouTube, ATSC A/85’s dialogue gating), it says to check before relying on it.
Why won’t it fix a file?
The fix changes the gain only. If reaching the target would push the true peak over the preset’s ceiling, the file needs a limiter first; LevelMark says how far gain alone can go and refuses rather than clip.
What happens to MP3 and AAC files when fixed?
They’re written as 24-bit WAV, because re-encoding would move the loudness again. WAV and AIFF keep their format.
LevelMark Pro
What’s free, and what does Pro add?
Free: up to 3 files at a time against every preset. Pro adds whole folders, CSV and PDF reports, and gain-only fixes. It’s a one-time purchase on Gumroad, with no subscription.
Where do I enter my license key?
Choose LevelMark › Settings…, open the License tab, paste the key from your Gumroad receipt and click Activate.
How do I get updates?
LevelMark checks for updates on its own; you can also choose Check for Updates… from the LevelMark menu. Updates are free.
Purchases
How do I get a refund?
Gumroad handles payment. Reply to your Gumroad receipt or email k.fitzgerald310@gmail.com.
Do I have to pay again on another Mac?
No. One license key works on up to 3 of your Macs. Download the app again from your Gumroad receipt or library and enter the same key.
