Privacy Policy
No accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and nothing about you or your work is sent to us.
This policy explains how Drawerbook (“the app”), a Mac app that cleans up photos and scans of children’s drawings and lays them out as a print-ready art book PDF, developed by Kevin Fitzgerald, handles information.
Information we collect
None. Drawerbook does not collect, store, sell or share personal information on any server, and it does not include analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking tools of any kind.
Information stored on your Mac
To work, the app keeps the following on your Mac only:
- Your book and calendar: the copies of the photos and scans you add, the children’s names, birthdays and notes, each drawing’s title, date and cleanup settings, the family dates you add to the calendar, and the book’s and calendar’s settings, in Drawerbook’s own folder on your Mac
- A few display preferences (the preview size, the compare view, the settings tab)
- Your license key, in your Mac’s Keychain
The book is in Drawerbook’s own folder on your Mac (inside its App Sandbox container), preferences are in Drawerbook’s preferences and the license key in your Keychain. Drawerbook keeps its own copy of each image you add and never changes the originals. The PDFs you export are new files, written only where you choose. Start a New Book to delete Drawerbook’s copies.
Your photos
Photos you add from your library come through Apple’s Photos picker: Drawerbook gets copies of only the photos you choose, read-only, and never sees the rest of your library. It doesn’t ask for Photos access. Photos taken or documents scanned with your iPhone (Continuity Camera) come straight to Drawerbook the same way.
Your files
Drawerbook runs in Apple’s App Sandbox, so it can open only the images and folders you pick or drop on it, and save only where you choose.
On your Mac
Finding the paper, straightening, evening out the light and whitening the paper all happen on your Mac with Apple’s Core Image and Vision. No drawing is uploaded anywhere, and Drawerbook doesn’t print or ship books.
Network
Drawerbook is sold directly through Gumroad, and its only network requests are the license check with Gumroad (your license key, when you enter it and about once a week) and checks for app updates at fitztoppicks.com. Neither sends anything about your drawings or your children.
Purchases
Drawerbook is sold directly through Gumroad, which handles payment and sends your receipt and license key; we never see your payment details. The app sends your license key to Gumroad to check it (when you enter it and about once a week); that is all it sends to Gumroad.
Children’s privacy
Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If the app ever begins collecting data, this policy will be updated before that happens.
