Bigprose

Privacy Policy

Effective September 29, 2026

The short version: Bigprose does not collect your data.

No accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and nothing about you or your work is sent to us.

This policy explains how Bigprose (“the app”), a Mac app that turns a document into a large-print copy, and chord sheets into large-print songbooks and set lists, for reading and printing, developed by Kevin Fitzgerald, handles information.

Information we collect

None. Bigprose does not collect, store, sell or share personal information on any server, and it does not include analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking tools of any kind.

Information stored on your Mac

To work, the app keeps the following on your Mac only:

Settings and the daily count are in Bigprose’s preferences, the song library is one file in its Application Support folder (inside its App Sandbox container), and the license key is in your Keychain. The document you open is read into memory while you work; the PDFs you save are new files, written only where you choose. Originals and imported song files are never changed.

Your files

Bigprose runs in Apple’s App Sandbox, so it can open only the documents and song files you pick or drop on it, and save only where you choose. If you used Chordbinder, Bigprose reads its library only when you pick that file in File › Import Chordbinder Library…. Printing goes through your Mac’s own print system.

Song lyrics

Bigprose doesn’t download lyrics or chords from anywhere; it lays out the songs you bring. Its sample songs are in the public domain. Lyrics belong to their writers and publishers: printing copyrighted songs for a church or group usually needs a license (for example from CCLI or a similar service) or the publisher’s permission. Nothing you print is reported anywhere.

Network

Bigprose is sold directly through Gumroad, and its only network requests are the license check with Gumroad (your license key, when you enter it and about once a week) and checks for app updates at fitztoppicks.com. Neither sends anything about your documents or songs.

Purchases

Bigprose is sold directly through Gumroad, which handles payment and sends your receipt and license key; we never see your payment details. The app sends your license key to Gumroad to check it (when you enter it and about once a week); that is all it sends to Gumroad.

Children’s privacy

Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If the app ever begins collecting data, this policy will be updated before that happens.
