Big Reading Magnifier privacy policy
Effective October 3, 2026
Big Reading Magnifier is an Android app by Kevin Fitzgerald for Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets and Fire tablets. It does not collect your data. There are no ads, no analytics, no accounts and no server of ours. The app has no permission to use the internet at all.
What it keeps on your device
- Your settings (zoom level, reading colors, brightness, text size, app colors)
- Pictures you choose to save: each one goes into your device's gallery (Pictures/Big Reading Magnifier), where you can delete it like any photo. Nothing else from the camera is kept
This stays in the app's private storage on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes it. If you turn on your device's own backup, Android may include it in that backup, which is covered by your device maker's privacy policy.
Permissions
- CAMERA: Shows the camera's picture, enlarged, so you can read small print. Asked the first time you use the magnifier, after a plain explanation. The picture is never sent anywhere.
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Android 9 only: lets Save put a frozen picture in your gallery. Asked only when you tap Save. Android 10 and later don't need it.
- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Android 9 only: Android adds this automatically alongside the storage permission above. The app never reads your files; Open uses the system picker, which needs no permission.
Links that leave the app
The About screen can open this page in your browser, the app's page in the Galaxy Store and Amazon Appstore, or your email app to write to support. Those apps handle anything you do there.
Purchases
Big Reading Magnifier is a one-time purchase in the Galaxy Store and Amazon Appstore, with no in-app purchases or subscriptions. Samsung's privacy notice covers that purchase. Amazon's privacy notice covers that purchase.
Sharing and selling
Nothing is collected, so nothing is sold or shared.
Children
Big Reading Magnifier isn't directed at children under 13 and collects nothing from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, this page will show the new date.
